Improvements for the spatial command-line tool 11/01/2018

Hello everyone,

I am very happy to announce the release of improvements to the spatial CLI tool that many of you have been waiting for.

  • The spatial cloud upload command will now provide you with much more succinct and cleaned-up output. Keeping you informed of all the necessary information so you know that your assembly has correctly been uploaded to your cloud project and is ready for deployment.
  • Additionally the upload command has an improved handling of network flakes, meaning that for larger assemblies a transient network issue is less likely to require you to restart your uploads. Uploading artifacts larger than 4 gigabytes also no longer causes issues.
  • Last but not least, it is now possible to safely reuse existing assembly names. To reuse an existing name you will need to specify the --force flag and an error message will inform you when attempting to reuse a name without it. Reusing an assembly will only require you to upload modified or new artifacts to keep the process as fast as possible.

You will be able to benefit from these improvements by explicitly running spatial update or by waiting to be prompted by an automatic update(*).

Happy development everyone!
