Hi – I’m not 100% clear on the status of linux client support of SpatialOS. Is it possible to build a game in Unity for linux and have it run SpatialOS? We shouldn’t need to use the experimental linux build of Unity to do this.
Officially, the SpatialOS GDK for Unity only supports the development of Windows and macOS clients. We know of no reason that Linux clients shouldn’t work, but we haven’t exhaustively tested Linux clients so don’t officially support it. I’ve just opened a task for our team to explicitly document the state of Linux support as I agree it’s not clear in our documentation.
If you do build Linux clients for your game, please do let me know how it goes, and feel free to ask her if you run into any issues.
